When a passerby first spotted MaryAnn on the side of a country road, curled up tight and completely still, they thought she was a turtle.
But what they found was a small, injured cat — silent, hurting, and trying her best to survive.
MaryAnn’s front leg was twisted at the joint, folded up toward her body, likely from a birth defect or an old injury that was never treated. The nails on her paw had curled in and were digging into her shoulder. She was walking on her elbow, which had formed a large, painful callus. Each step was a thud against the ground — a painful reminder of everything she’d endured.
That road could have been the end of her story. But instead, it was the beginning.

Thanks to your support, MaryAnn received life-changing surgery to remove the damaged leg. And from that moment on, everything changed for this loving girl. She gained weight. She wanted to play. She didn’t limp — she hopped.

And just last week, the next chapter of her journey began — MaryAnn was adopted by a loving family who saw her strength and sweetness. They opened their home — and their hearts — to a cat who wouldn’t have survived without the kindness of a stranger and your compassion.
