Jenny: From Feisty to Family

When Jenny arrived at the end of May, she was very tiny, very unsocial, and very sick.

She had panleukopenia, a life-threatening virus in kittens, and despite treatment, she didn’t gain weight for three weeks. We worried constantly. She was so small and so shut down.

By July, Jenny finally started turning a corner, only to develop a stubborn upper respiratory infection and a deep, persistent cough.

We were back to worrying, and Jenny was over it.

She was tired of being handled, tired of medicine, and not shy about letting us know. She hissed. She glared. She swatted.

The only person she would tolerate was our own “cat whisperer,” Delaine (in photo), who worked patiently to gain her trust. Jenny didn’t want to be rescued, but Delaine refused to give up.

And then, something beautiful happened.

An elderly woman came into the shelter. She wasn’t looking for a “perfect” kitten. She was looking for a connection. And when she met Jenny, it just clicked.

Now, Jenny is curled up in sunbeams, chasing toys, and soaking up the love she used to keep at arm’s length. Her new mom sends us photos and updates all the time — she’s absolutely smitten.

So is Jenny.

This is what your support makes possible.

You helped cover her treatment. You helped fund the time and care she needed to come around.
You gave a scared, cranky kitten the chance to grow into someone’s beloved companion.

You didn’t just save Jenny’s life — you helped her find where she truly belongs.

Thank you for giving cats like Jenny the second chances they need.  We’re so grateful for you.
