Abuse and Neglect
The Fayette Regional Humane Society is the only organization in Fayette and Ross Counties responsible for enforcing the humane laws of the state of Ohio. The Humane Society employs 4 trained and certified Humane Agents who are available 24/7 to respond to calls of abused, neglected, injured or abandoned domestic animals. The Humane Agents will take steps to rectify any abuse or neglect, from issuing warnings to filing charges. To report suspected abuse or neglect, please click here or call us at 740.335.8126.
The Humane Society adoption program finds homes for over 1,000 kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs each year. The FRHS has a live release rate or 97.5%, meaning that nearly every animal who enters the adoption program finds their forever home.

This program provides low cost spay or neuter for owned animals at a reduced cost. Surgeries are performed in our own surgery suite.
The FRHS provides basic healthcare for pets living in needy households free of charge. For qualifying households this includes: food, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and basic veterinary care.
Operation Cat Snip
Operation Cat Snip is a trap, neuter, return program which offers an alternative to euthanasia for community cats. These stray or feral cats are spayed or neutered and returned to their homes in the community.
