Some kittens seem to face more than their fair share of battles.
Wesson was one of them.
When he came to us, Wesson was tiny, sick, and struggling with severe diarrhea. Just as that started to improve, he developed a respiratory infection, which turned into pneumonia. Then he was diagnosed with panleukopenia, one of the deadliest viruses in young cats.
And just when we thought the worst was behind him, Wesson was diagnosed with FIP.
For years, FIP, or feline infectious peritonitis, has been considered a death sentence for cats. Caused by a mutation of a common feline virus, FIP triggers an overwhelming inflammatory response in the body. It often leads to fluid buildup, organ damage, and, in most cases, rapid decline.
For a long time, FIP had no treatment. No cure. Just heartbreak.
But now, thanks to recent breakthroughs, that has changed. There’s a treatment. It’s not easy, and it’s not cheap, but it works. And it’s saving lives.
And Wesson is one of them.
Thanks to you, this little fighter is still with us, eating, playing, healing, and soaking up every bit of love we have to give. He’s still on daily medication and has a bit of a road to recovery ahead, but every day, he’s growing stronger.
Wesson is nothing short of a miracle. And you made that miracle possible.
Your support gave Wesson a chance that didn’t exist just a few years ago. You gave him access to treatment, to round-the-clock care, and to the kind of hope that saves lives.
From all of us — and from our miracle boy himself — thank you. He’s already used at least five of his nine lives, but the rest are looking brighter every day!
Thank you for giving him the chance to keep fighting, keep growing, and someday, find the forever home he deserves.
